Price Plan / Pricing Options Terms and Conditions

These Price Plan / Pricing Options terms and Conditions are valid from 15th June 2023.

Note: To ensure a charge point is available for the next user, an overstay fee of £8 will apply for charging sessions longer than 60 minutes at London and ultra rapid chargers.

One Time Payment

ESB Energy One Time Payment rate costs from 63p* per kilowatt hour (kWh) for fast charging (22kW), from 73p* per kilowatt hour (kWH) for rapid charging (50kW) and from 77p* per kilowatt hour (kWh) for Ultra Rapid Charging (150kWH) from 15th June 2023. 

It operates on a pay-as-you-go basis, with no subscription or connection fees needed, you’ll only pay for the power used to recharge your electric vehicle (EV).

The minimum credit or debit card balance required to start a charge is £30. 

One-time anonymous transactions (via contactless) are subject to a connection fee of 50p.

PAYG

ESB Energy PAYG rate costs from 63p* per kilowatt hour (kWh) for fast charging (22kW), from 73p* per kilowatt hour (kWH) for rapid charging (50kW) and 77p* per kilowatt hour (kWh) for Ultra Rapid Charging (150kWH) from 6th July 2023. 

It operates on a pay-as-you-go basis, with no subscription or connection fees needed, you’ll only pay for the power used to recharge your EV.

To pay, download the “EV Plug In” app where you can securely register your debit or credit card details.

You can load credit in multiples of £10 to your account. The minimum credit or debit card balance required to start a charge is £5. 

A charge point access card is available to PAYG customers for a once off fee of £10.

Membership Subscription

Charge point access cards are provided free of charge as part of the membership package.

Replacement access cards will be charged at £10 each.

There are 2 membership subscription offers:

General Membership Subscription

ESB Energy Membership package costs £4.99 incl. VAT per month, usage costs from 59p* per kilowatt hour (kWh) of electricity used for fast charging (22kW), from 68p* per kilowatt hour (kWH) of electricity used for rapid charging (50kW) and from 73p* per kilowatt hour (kWh) of electricity used for Ultra Rapid Charging (150kWH) on a pay per use basis. 

There is a 12-month minimum term. ESB Energy reserves the right to charge a cancellation charge equal to the subscription fee of the remaining term of the contract.

At the end of minimum term, customer memberships will automatically continue on a rolling monthly basis until cancelled.

The minimum credit or debit card balance required to start a charge is £5. 

Taxi Membership Subscription

If you are a registered electric taxi driver, you can subscribe for free and usage costs from 59p* per kilowatt hour (kWh) of electricity used for fast charging (22kW), from 68p* per kilowatt hour (kWH)  of electricity used for rapid charging (50kW) and  73p* per kilowatt hour (kWh) for Ultra Rapid Charging on a pay per use basis.

Proof of a taxi license is required via the sign-up process.

At the end of minimum term, customer memberships will automatically continue on a rolling monthly basis until cancelled.

The minimum credit or debit card balance required to start a charge is £5. 

Contactless

ESB Energy Contactless rate costs from 73p* per kilowatt hour (kWh) from 2nd November 2022.

Contactless is available across the majority of our chargers. Where contactless payment is used, a 50p connection fee will be applicable.

All prices are inclusive of VAT at 20%.
